Creating Custom Membership Websites
INCUB8 have had the pleasure of working with some amazing clients recently, and we are proud of what we have achieved alongside these businesses.
Something that we have been building more of lately are membership websites – sites that not only require generic pages for the general public to access, such as Home, About Us and Contact, but also a custom-built section for potential members to sign-up, and for current members to log in and use for specific purposes.
At INCUB8, these sites are built using Wordpress and a variety of plugins, particularly the WooCommerce and MembershipWorks platforms.
We won’t bore you with the nitty-gritty, but using these tools allow us to build a site that fully meets the needs of our clients, and their members.
Let us take you through an example.
Case Study: Mundaring Chamber of Commerce
The Mundaring Chamber of Commerce (MCC) website was a huge, multi-faceted project that took a lot of forward thinking.
Not only were we building a site for the public to use for accessing local business information, but also for local business owners who might be interested in joining, and users who are already members of the MCC.

As such, there are three main areas of the site targeting these specific groups of people.
A Business Directory for the public searching for local businesses, a Join Us page detailing member benefits and options to become an MCC member, and a simple login page for current members to access and manage their online profile in the Business Directory and post Events on the Chamber’s calendar of events.

Building a simple, beautiful, no fuss website that is easy for a wide demographic to use can be difficult, but we think that the end result for MCC was more than worth the effort.
The site is easy for anyone to navigate and find the specific tools they are looking for. Having a simple, easily found login page for members helps to improve membership engagement and retention, which means business owners (in this case) are more likely to renew their memberships.
Business profiles are simple and informative for the general public, allowing MCC members to really engage with the benefits of being an MCC member – the website is an amazing advertising tool that helps small and medium sized local businesses in the Perth Hills gain great exposure.
